One of the leadership candidates for the federal New Democrats will be in Huron Bruce today.
Paul Dewar will have lunch with NDP members in Stratford.
Then he will host a discussion with residents at Paddy O’Neils in the Goderich Square from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
Dewar is a former aid worker in Nicaragua, public school teacher, and teachers federation vice president.
He was elected MP for Ottawa Centre in 2006.
Dewar says he has been traveling the country to talk to families about the issues they care about and earn their support to form Canada’s next government.
The leadership convention will be held in Toronto in March — Dewar is one of seven candidates vying for the job.
The last high profile federal New Democrat to visit Huron Bruce and the town of Goderich was Jack Layton, just a few months before winning the Official Opposition.
