2011 was a year of steady growth for the town of Hanover.
The town issued 132 building permits with a construction value of 15.6 million dollars.
This almost doubles the stats in 2010, which totalled 8.2 million dollars.
Chief Building Official Don Tedford points out the permit for Hanover Raceway’s new banquet hall represents 8 of the 15.6 million.
The stats also show new residential growth dropped to just 7 permits in 2011 with a value at 1.6 million dollars — down from 3.3 million in 2010.
All in all, Tedford says it was a steady year of building activity for Hanover.
As for 2012, Tedford is hoping for a busy year ahead.
He says there a few projects in the works for the towns Industrial Park as well as the demolition and new build project for Hanover Chrysler.
