The OPP say a van involved in a crash near Stratford that killed 11 people ran a stop sign and the driver didn’t have the required F-class licence for the vehicle.
10 migrant workers from Peru in a van and a truck driver died in the crash on Monday in the tiny community of Hampstead.
At a news conference Wednesday — Police say they’ve concluded the driver of the van failed to stop for the truck.
The driver was a 45 year old man who was among those killed.
Three people from the van survived — and two remain in critical condition in hospital.
The driver of the truck — 38 year old Chris Fulton of London was killed on the same day he celebrated his 11th wedding anniversary.
A prayer service will be held Friday night.
The non-denominational service at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stratford is for victims of Monday’s crash and their families — and also to recognize emergency workers.
