The former “Around the Sound” building in Owen Sound is coming down.
The demolition started Monday at the former market place building that was gutted by a fire last May.
The City had wanted the building to come down out of safety concerns — but it took the owner months to move utilities located in the basement of the burned out building.
The water, sewer and hydro servicing is for the remainder of the property, which is still open.
The owner of the property has not applied for any permit to rebuild on the site.
