Union leaders are upset that the province is moving to make major changes to the public service without any input from the general public.
OPSEU local President in Owen Sound, Paul Johnstone, says the McGuinty Liberals hired a banker named Don Drummond to look at how to save by slashing the public service.
His year long study is about to be released and Johnstone says some sectors could suffer a 30 per cent cut in funding and staffing.
Johnstone says all this is being done without input from the unions or the public.
As a result, the Public Service Foundation of Canada is holding a meeting in Owen Sound on Tuesday at the Bayshore Community Centre.
It is one of several planned in Ontario.
Johnstone says it is a chance for the public to find out more about the planned cuts, and to provide feedback on the issue.
Johnstone says the feedback will be sent to Premier Dalton McGuinty.
There is a meeting at 1 PM at the Bayshore Community Centre for service providers and government funded agencies.
Then the public can attend an information session at 7 PM.
