The deal that sees Stone Tree Golf and Fitness take over the former Owen Sound Golf and Country Club has been finalized.
Director of Operations, Michael Todd, tells Bayshore Broadcasting News the sale from Kinsale Investments to Stone Tree closed on Tuesday.
Kinsale bought the former golf course and property from the receiver late last year, but sold off the golf course in a separate deal.
Todd says what is planned for the land around the old Golf and Country Club is up in the air.
He says Stone Tree has a partnership with Kinsale for the frontage of the golf course, but declined to say what might be developed there.
Rumours have been flying that Kinsale investments plans on a housing development next to the golf course, but nothing has been finalized.
For now, Todd says Stone Tree is gearing up for the start of golfing and will hold a job fair on February 18th at Stone Tree.
On February 7th — next Tuesday — there will be a meet and greet at Stone Tree for members of the media and invited guests, where a new name for the former Owen Sound Golf and Country Club will be unveiled.
At the same time, they plan to start selling memberships for the two golf courses.
Todd says members of the old club will have full membership privileges at Stone Tree, while Stone Tree members have limited access to the Golf and Country course for 2012.
