Team Kincardine wants to go to bat for the municipality.
Team Kincardine is comprised of three local organizations.
The local Chamber of Commerce, the Business Improvement Association and the Penetangore Regional Economic Development Corporation. (PREDC)
PREDC Executive Director Gerry Taylor appeared before council recently (WED) to fill them in on their vision for Kincardine.
He says their approach will focus on community sustainability, enhanced tourism, business retention and cultural heritage arts.
Taylor says PREDC is requesting 40 thousand dollars from council, so they can hire more staff and move all three organizations under one roof.
That 40 thousand is in addition to 100 thousand dollars PREDC asked for last year.
Taylor notes their goals will align with the Community Sustainability Plan council currently has in the works.
He feels if Team Kincardine gets involved, they can take a blended and more efficient approach to the plan.
Team Kincardine consists of Taylor, BIA President Cheryl Goetz, Economic Development Committee member Linda Bowers, and PREDC President Jim Prenger.
