Conservative Larry Miller is back in Ottawa — and first on his agenda is to see the long gun registry scrapped for good.
Miller tells Bayshore Broadcasting News it’s long overdue — and he expects the bill will be passed in March at the latest.
Miller says the registry is “ludicrous” because it affected farmers and hunters who were never criminals.
He also notes criminals never registered their guns.
Miller adds the billions of dollars spent on the registry is better spent on actually fighting crime.
Miller’s private members bill that bans bulk water sales or diversions in Canada will also come up for debate in February.
The Tory MP says he has received a lot of positive feedback about his bill.
