Preparing our students today for the world of tomorrow.
That is the vision laid out in the Bluewater District School Board’s new Strategic Plan.
Director of Education John Bryant says there are three main areas of focus.
The first is to ensure the well being of students and staff in a safe and supportive environment for teaching, learning and working.
Bryant notes a big component of that is monitoring the mental and emotional well being of staff and students.
He says the second measure states they will provide quality instruction in an equitable and inclusive environment.
Bryant notes they’ll set high expectations for students, helping them strive to be their absolute best.
And the third component of the plan is to encourage parent engagement.
Bryant adds the Strategic Plan gives the board a distinct area of focus for everything they do, be it budget discussions or evaluating education quality.
Communications Officer Jamie Pettit says the next step is to seek out media opportunities, so they can tell people what the plan is all about.
He adds they will also hold three Community Forums, with the first on February 22nd.
