The Alzheimer’s Society of Grey Bruce is looking for your help.
The agency is looking for people to take part in its annual Walk for Memories.
It takes place Saturday January 28th in Hanover, Port Elgin and Owen Sound.
Executive Director Deborah Barker says the Walk is one of their most important awareness and fundraising events of the year.
Barker says everyone who walks or pledges a donation makes a real difference because the money pays for their assistance programs.
Those include offering education and support services to people with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers.
Community Development Co-ordinator Bill Twaddle hopes to beat last year’s numbers.
About 175 people walked last year and raised 85 thousand dollars.
Twaddle says the walks are family events for all ages.
The Walks take place at Saugeen District Secondary in Port Elgin, at West Hill in Owen Sound and at Hanover Heights Community School.
All walks start with registration at 9 AM and the actual walk begins at 10 AM.
