Hanover ER patients will soon know how long their wait time will be — and in the event of a long one — the reason why.
This will be done via an Emergency Room television screen which will provide patients with constant updates.
Vice President of Patient Care Services Esther Millar believes many people will appreciate this new practice.
She says it was patients that requested this information be made available.
Millar says this will be particularly helpful in the event of a trauma in which non urgent patients may have to wait several hours.
If that happens — she notes some people may choose to go home and come back later.
Millar says it’s all about common courtesy and respect.
The E-R Television will also broadcast promotional hospital and health care messages.
