The annual ” Ice Dreams ” Skating event will be hosted by the Meaford Skating Club Saturday and Sunday at the Meaford-St Vincent Community Centre.
The Meaford Club, in conjunction with Skate Canada Central Ontario and Bayshore Broadcasting are expecting close to 200 skaters from the region to participate.
There are close to a dozen skating clubs in the region who will have skaters at the event.
Kristen Davies of the Meaford Skating Club relates that ” Ice Dreams ” is a competition — and to a certain extent, it’s not.
Davies explains that ” Ice Dreams ” does not serve as a qualifier for another skating competition in the future, but rather serves as a great opportunity for skaters to experience what a competitive skating event is like.
To that end, Davies relates the competitive aspect of ” Ice Dreams ” also serves to provide a sequence of great lessons to the participants in a variety of ways on how to conduct themselves in a competition.
Ice Dreams runs Saturday from 9 AM to 8 PM and Sunday from 9 AM to 4 PM.
