2011 was a year filled with bustling building activity in Brockton.
Construction value in the municipality hit 19.8 million dollars after 185 building permits were issued last year.
That compares to 35 million dollars in 2010.
Mayor David Inglis says the overall numbers may be done but increased growth in the residential, commercial and agricultural sectors.
The municipality issued residential building permits worth 7.4 million dollars in 2011.
Commercial activity was valued at 4.8 million — and included the Best Western hotel, which should be complete by the Spring.
Building permits in the agricultural sector more than doubled to 4.8 million dollars in 2011.
The only drop was in government and institution construction — which dropped from 23 million in 2010 to just 140 thousand dollars last year.
But that was due to a new school construction and OPP office build in 2010.
