It’s budget time at Bruce Telecom.
CEO Bart Cameron made a quarterly report to Kincardine Council on Wednesday and gave them an overview of their 2012 budget.
Cameron notes 2011 was a strong year from the telecommunications company, particularly with the continuation of their infrastructure upgrade.
The project provides rural residents with high speed Internet access, and they are also working to offer a new Digital T.V. platform.
He tells Bayshore Broadcasting News, the 5.5 million dollar project is ahead of schedule and under budget.
Cameron tells Bayshore Broadcasting News the majority of upgrades are complete, and with the support of council — they were able to expedite the process.
The upgrade are expected to be complete early this year.
As for the 2012 budget, Cameron says they have an operating budget of 426 thousand dollars, and roughly 2.2 million dollars in their capital budget.
Cameron says they are also able to provide a one million dollar dividend to the Municipality of Kincardine.
