Tonight is your last chance to take-in Owen Sound’s Festival of Northern Lights.
The 24th edition of the festival marked the first time in two years the 9th Street Bridge in Owen Sound has been open during the Festival of Northern Lights.
Coordinator Keira McArthur says that added to increased traffic for both walkers and those on bus tours.
McArthur says 20 bus tours took in the festival this year and she knows for a fact they all ate dinner here, shopped and took-in local entertainment.
She predicts the economic spin-off this year will be much higher than the one million dollar mark they reached in 2009.
Donations to the festival were also up.
The 24th annual festival is the first year it has been run as an arms length organization.
The lights will be on tonight for a last time until next year, which is the festival’s 25th anniversary.
