Firefighters and minor hockey coaches will face-off Thursday night in Walkerton.
Walkerton Volunteer Firefighter Mark McDonald says they’ve organized a hockey match to raise some money.
McDonald says the funds will be split evenly between the Walkerton Fire Association and Walkerton’s minor sports leagues.
He says they were trying to think of a way to get the community together and get them involved, and most of them have always enjoyed playing hockey.
But that being said, he says it doesn’t mean it will be the highest calibre hockey.
He says they are trying to provide some entertainment.
McDonald says the doors at the Walkerton Arena will open at 6:30 PM, and there will be a raffle table with prizes all donated by local businesses.
At 7 PM, the on ice activities will begin with a skills competition for fastest skater, and a shoot-out.
The game will start at 7:30 PM.
Admission is by donation.
