Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Larry Miller says the new year will allow the federal government to get things done.
Miller won his fourth term in office in May’s election and is now part of a majority Conservative government.
Miller tells Bayshore Broadcasting News he is looking forward to the end of the long gun registry this year.
The local MP says he is also ready to debate his private members bill that bans the sale of bulk water.
Miller says he will also fight to have the Owen Sound harbour dredged — he says the project is past due.
One of the pieces of legislation passed before Parliament wrapped up for Christmas break was the approval of 30 more MP’s.
Miller voted against the move and feels it’s a waste of money.
Miller believes charges will be laid in the Attawapiskat affair because of the mismanagement of funds by the band leadership that has forced residents to live in tents and shacks.
