South Bruce OPP are warning businesses who arrange transactions through the Internet to be on the lookout for individuals who try to profit at their expense.
The warning comes after the operator of a Kincardine-based trucking business alerted police that someone was using the company’s name and bidding on loads worth more than 80-thousand dollars.
Police say freight deliveries are arranged on-line by freight brokers who are then assigned to freight haulers.
South Bruce OPP ask that anyone with information about this incident or similar ones to call either them of Crime Stoppers.
