A new ad hoc committee raising money for Harrison Park in Owen Sound will likely meet before New Years, to build on ideas for the 100th anniversary of the park next year.
Member and councillor Jan Chamberlain says recently installed donation boxes at Harrison park have been a hit with a lot of people donating to help spruce up the city park.
Already, some money that came in to the donation boxes was used in the re-roofing of the Harrison Park Inn this fall.
Owen Sound has budgeted a quarter million dollars for capital projects at Harrison park.
However, the list of priorities over the next four years totals 1.3 million dollars worth of work.
Those larger projects include resurfacing the park’s trails, upgrading the pool and improving parking lots.
