The artwork of a Grade 12 senior student at Saugeen District Secondary School, is being seen around the world, thanks to Bruce Power.
Emilie Darlington of the Cargill area, submitted the winning artwork that Bruce Power has chosen for its corporate holiday cards it sends out.
Bruce Power has a yearly competition for Bluewater students to design the card.
Darlington says she had two submissions but the winning one has the drawing of an old-fashioned cartoon reindeer with a Happy Holiday greeting strung between its antlers.
For her effort, Darlington wins 500 dollars cash.
Darlington says she plans to go after a degree in Fine Art at the post-secondary level next year.
Runners up were Anna Kollman-Suhr and Lauren McGinty both of SDSS.
Bruce Power spokesperson James Scognack presented the cheque to Darlington at a recent board of education meeting.
Scognack says the company was aware of a lot of artistic talent within the secondary schools and wanted to tap into that talent.
