It appears the City of Owen Sound will receive infrastructure funding to build a new multi use recreation centre.
Local MP Larry Miller’s office issued a news release Friday regarding a news conference Monday morning at Victoria Park.
That is the proposed site for the new regional rec centre — which would include a full sized swimming pool, a running track, a fitness centre and two ice pads.
Miller is scheduled to make the funding announcement with Huron Bruce Liberal MPP Carol Mitchell.
Sources tell Bayshore Broadcasting News the announcement will be infrastructure funding for the rec centre project.
The City’s application estimates the cost of the project at 33 million dollars.
Owen Sound Mayor Ruth Lovell Stanners will be at the news conference and sources also say several other local Mayors will be there.
