Another warning from Police to be aware of scams.
South Bruce OPP report two seniors were scammed for a combined total of 32 hundred dollars.
On February 4th — a resident of Kincardine sent over 23 hundred dollars to help her grandson in Montreal — or she thought in what turned out to be the Grandparent scam.
On February 3rd — three men using the company name of Bruce Dredge Construction collected 900 dollars from a resident of Huron Kinloss for chimney repairs.
But the work was never done in what is known has the home renovation scam.
Police say both scams target seniors that are honest, trusting and living on a fixed income.
Technology allows scammers to become more creative and gather background information on their victims before they make contact.
Friends, families and caregivers are asked to help spread the word on seniors’ fraud.
