More than two thousand people are more ready for spring after attending the Port Elgin Rotary Home Show.
It’s also expected the Rotary Club will have made around 20 thousand dollars over the course of the weekend as well.
Chair Bob Lunney says just under 22 hundred people took in the home show this weekend, which he calls a success.
Lunney says Friday night, they sold out of raffle tickets for the 42 inch big screen TV and for the portable generator.
He says that is the first time that has happened in the history of the show – and they even started selling Saturday’s 50-50 draw tickets on Friday.
Official numbers will be tallied this week, but in raffle tickets alone, Luney estimates at least 7 thousand dollars was raised for the Club.
Money was also collected through donations, 50-50 draws, and booth participation.
About seventy vendors took part in the show covering various aspects of home renovation and recreational activities.
Lunney also says vendors expressed pleasure with the show – having met or exceeded their goals in obtaining clients throughout the weekend for the most part.
Rotary donation projects include the library, skate park, and museum among others in the community.
Other home shows this weekend took place in Hanover, Walkerton and Owen Sound.
