The OPP want to focus on motorcycle safety in light of the increasing number of motorcycle deaths on Ontario roads.
8 people have died in motorcycle crashes across the province in less than a week.
Grey County OPP Constable Steve Starr says speed is normally a contributing factor in any motorcycle crash.
But Starr says other motor vehicle drivers are to blame at times and motorcycle driver inexperience is another factor.
Starr says it takes special skills to be a motorcycle driver and a newer driver may not have the experience to get out of trouble.
Starr says other motorists should always be aware of motorcyclists on the road and take extra caution.
Starr — who is a motorcycle enthusiast — says he has noticed more motorcycles on roads in Grey, Bruce, Huron and Simcoe Counties.
He says these people are who want to get away from the big City and just ride along our scenic routes.
Starr recommends motorcycle riders ensure they are wearing a proper helmet and also bright coloured clothing.
