Home sales in the area remained strong in November — as the number of properties changing hands jumped 37 per cent compared with a year ago.
There were 167 homes sold in November in Grey and Bruce Counties, which was the third highest total for the month on record.
Figures released by the Realtors Association of Grey Bruce Owen Sound show the average price was just over 205 thousand dollars.
That is down 17 per cent from a year ago, but President Tricia McKeeman says they had an unusually high average price at this time last year.
Meanwhile, the number of homes on the market remains high.
Active residential listings totalled 1,501 units at the end of November, rising seven per cent from the same month in 2010.
The dollar value of all home sales in November 2011 was 34.3 million dollars — up 23 per cent on a year-over-year basis.
