As the three year agreement with the current Kincardine Airport service provider comes to an end — Council has decided to see if they can squeeze another year of service from the current provider.
Kincardine Mayor Larry Kraemer says council decided in a closed meeting that they would approach current provider Evans Aviation to see if they would be interested in a one-year extension of their contract.
Kramer says that way the new CAO who starts in February could look at future policies for the airport then the municipality could re-open the bids for contracts at the end of next year.
Early last month a request for proposals went out and the municipality did receive some interest but those are being put on hold, pending the outcome of talks with the current provider for an extra year of service.
