The Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce has a new president.
John Kirkham, owner of Kirkham Construction of Southampton, takes over from, now, Past President Cheryl Goetz.
Kirkham says he knows he has a solid team behind him and he looks forward to his year in office.
During the general membership and elections meeting, held at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre, the CAW wind turbine controversy was brought up during new business.
Kirkham says the Chamber is going to support the stance of the town that they are not in favour of having a large turbine constructed so close to a residential community.
The construction of the turbine continues at the Family Education Centre.
It has been the subject of two protests lately by residents of the town who are against it.
