Despite challenges that Bluewater District School Board Education Director John Bryant calls opportunities, he believes the annual report for 2011 is a glowing one.
Bryant says the pillars of success for Bluewater are students, staff and community.
He says student achievement and well-being have been paramount in the past year.
He admits the board, like many others, are grapping with declining enrolment but the opportunities come in the growth of the students they do have under their care.
He says the board values a public education system that promotes a joy of learning for everyone.
Bryant says he looks forward to 2012 when the strategic plan will be officially launched on January 24th.
He says part of that strategic plan will have him reaching out to the communities with town-hall like meetings, much like he did early in 2011.
Bryant says it’s imperative the community stay involved with education and he plans to encourage that through the public meetings.
