The president of the Ontario Medical Association is meeting with local doctors tonight near Owen Sound.
Doctor Stewart Kennedy says his trip to Stone Tree Golf and Fitness is part of his provincewide tour the OMA does each year.
He says they meet with local doctors and get feedback and see if there’s areas they can assist in.
Doctor Kennedy says it’s one of the first years he has noticed a lot of issues from physicians concerning care-to-patients — be it access to specialists or lack of hospital beds.
He calls it refreshing to hear that one of the major concerns among physicians is the ability to provide good quality care to patients.
Doctor Kennedy is touting the province’s electronic medical record system as a good news story among physicians — adding six thousand doctors and seven million patients now have access to those records.
Doctor Kennedy says they’re also hearing from physicians their quality of life is improving significantly.
He says five years ago the satisfaction of quality of life among doctors was about 55 per cent, but now that number is 80 per cent.
