South Bruce OPP have caught a Toronto man, who now faces several theft charges.
This past Sunday at 7:30 PM, officers were dispatched to a gas station in Mildmay after a report of stolen gasoline.
Minutes later, the suspect’s car was seen on County Road 3 in Carrick Township.
But when stopped, the driver took off running and officers searched but could not find him.
Further investigation showed the Mini Cooper was also stolen from a car dealership in Toronto, and the attached licence plates had been reported stolen as well.
On Monday, police received reports the man was seen hitchhiking in Huron County, and was arrested around 9 PM at a home in Bluewater.
The 44 year old man now faces a list of charges, including possession of stolen property, theft, flight from police and breach of probation.
He will appear in Walkerton court on Thursday.
