A big meeting today about bibles in public schools.
The Bluewater public school board policy committee is listening to arguments about whether bibles should be allowed in its schools.
Director of Education John Bryant says they have received complaints in the past about the issue.
But Trustees heard last month from Pastor Mark Koehler in Hanover — who says they have been distributing bibles to public elementary students for the past 64 years.
And he says it’s only for students who want them and have their parents sign permission forms.
The meeting begins at 4 PM at the board’s Chesley office and it’s open to the public.
