The Conservative MP for Huron Bruce has yet to hear from the Canadian Auto Workers union about his request for a meeting about a controversial wind turbine.
Ben Lobb was one of 300 people at Saturday’s peaceful protest at the CAW road.
As we first told you on the weekend — Lobb called on the CAW to be a good neighbour and hold a public meeting.
The group Saugeen Turbine Operation Policy (STOP) is upset the turbine at the CAW Family Education Centre would be built only 150 metres from the nearest home.
The group has also pledged to fight the issue to the Supreme Court.
Lobb tells Bayshore Broadcasting News he has met with concerned residents and the Director of the CAW to get both sides of the story.
He feels the union should be willing to compromise and find a mutually agreeable solution with residents.
That could include relocating the wind turbine or installing solar panels.
Lobb notes his office has been overwhelmed with phone calls and emails regarding the CAW’s wind turbine.
The cement for the turbine foundation is expected to be poured this week.
