Canada Post is marking 150 years of service in Formosa.
A ceremony was held Thursday at the Post office at 1225 Bruce Road 12.
Postmaster Sally Kroeplin, Stratford-Goderich area Manager Cheryl James and Formosa’s oldest resident — 96 year old Clara Bohnert — all participated in the ceremony.
Canada Post spokesperson Tom Creech says a special Formosa cancellation (post mark) that was unveiled earlier this year will be used for the first time.
The Formosa Post office was established December 1st, 1861 with the first postmaster listed as F.X. Mesner.
