The Southampton Art School now has an artist in residence.
Local artist Pat Keeling will be available to budding artists from now until April 18th.
Keeling says she sees her job as encouraging people to come into the art school to see what can be done and perhaps eventually take the plunge to do some serious artistic work.
Keeling says that’s what happened to her and on Saturday she showed some works she has produced following a 2-week trip to the Antarctica.
Meanwhile art school director Meghan Clouartre says they’re pleased to have Keeling with them for the next little while.
Clouartre says an open gala of Keeling’s works happened Saturday afternoon along with demonstrations for those on hand.
Clouartre says it was a “meet and greet” session with Keeling and an opportunity to sign up for some printmaking workshops next weekend with the artist.
