This should be the last week for construction on 10th street East in Owen Sound.
Owen Sound Engineering Service Manager Chris Webb says permanent traffic lights are being installed at the intersection of 10th Street and 9th Avenue East early this week.
At the same time, traffic lights are now operating at the entrance to the new Regional Rec Centre at 10th Street and 7th Avenue, as well as 10th Street and 16th Avenue near the Hospital.
Webb says once the final touches are put on the intersection by Tim Horton’s, they will open up the 10th Street link out to 16th Avenue.
That section of 10th Street East will open sometime on Friday December 2nd.
That he says, will likely result in a lot of traffic flowing out 10th Street instead of turning on 9th avenue.
Webb says they appear to be right on target for the link extension budget, and they are about 250 thousand dollars under budget on the work at 10th street and 9th avenue east.
That intersection was budget at 2.4 million dollars.
