Mother Teresa School Principal Nola Collins will be named the 2012 Principal of the Year by the Catholic Principal Council of Ontario in April.
It was unanimous decision of the Council and one that caught Collins by surprise.
As we told you earlier this month — Mother Teresa School was also recognized with the Doctor Bette Stephenson Award for the school’s EQAO test results.
Collins suspects her school’s recent success helped contribute to her new title.
Teacher Cheryl Kuntz says Collins deserves the award because she allows her staff to take risks and is always eager to assist with problem solving.
Collins says her job is made easier by excellent staff members, wonderful students and supportive parents.
Collins has been a principal for 21 years, and served as an educator in the Bruce Grey Catholic School Board for 31 years.
She has spent the last seven years as principal at Mother Teresa School.
