It was a packed house at the Women’s House Serving Bruce & Grey Annual General Meeting.
The meeting went last night at Bruce Power’s Visitors Centre in Tiverton.
Women’s House Board of Directors Chair Tracey Primeau says it’s important to hold the meeting each year as it provides an opportunity for the organizations who donate to Women’s House to see how their financial support is used.
A portion of the meeting was used to recognize the new and continuing donors to Women’s House.
Primeau says the meeting had a great turnout and she was especially surprised by the amount of media there.
Primeau says the attendance shows people are more interested and aware of Women’s House and their cause.
The meeting also had a presentation on a 3 year project conducted in the service area on the experiences of abused women in Grey Bruce as well there was an update on the organization’s Second Stage Housing which begins in Port Elgin this summer.
The board also welcomed two new members: Joan Black and Hillary Johnson.
Primeau says both of their new members are great additions to the board and bring alot to the table.
Primeau will continue to be Chair for the board which will be her 4th year.
Primeau says it’s a great honour to remain on as a chair and says she still has alot more to accomplish in the upcoming year.
98 the Beach received a plaque recognizing the contribution the radio station makes throughout the year to the facility.
