Another sign of spring is before us.
The annual sale of daffodils for cancer research is underway in Saugeen Shores and within the Bluewater Unit which includes Owen Sound, the Bruce Peninsula, down to Walkerton and Hanover and Kincardine and all the smaller towns in between.
Bonin says they start selling the flowers today and sales will continue at various locations until this Sunday.
Daffodils are seven dollars a bunch or two bunches for 12-dollars.
They’re also selling their silk pins for four dollars each.
The Bluewater Unit expects to sell 100 thousand blooms this year and in Saugeen Shores over 13 thousand blooms are expected to be sold.
Approximately 56 thousand dollars was raised by the Bluewater Unit last year and almost nine thousand dollars of that came from Port Elgin and Southampton.
The money raised go towards helping local cancer patients fight the disease, along with money for cancer research and education.
