Conservative Bill Walker is bringing the jail closure issue in Owen Sound and Walkerton to the Ontario Legislature.
Walker will table a resolution on Tuesday — asking the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services to either delay or stop their plan to close the Jails on December 4th.
He says it will help that both Huron Bruce Conservative MPP Lisa Thompson and Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey are after the same answers.
Walker wants to know how the Province came up with cost savings.
Meantime, after seven long months Bob Bailey finally received the Sarnia Jail Freedom of Information Request.
MPP Bailey says the over two hundred page document provides almost no financial information used by the Ministry to close the Jail.
Bailey does tell us that in the documents, Ministry Officials say the Sarnia jail closure could free up that facility to be used as an Bed and Breakfast.
Bailey was in Owen Sound this past Saturday touring the jail with Walker.
