An off duty Huron County OPP officer is now charged with assault in connection with a domestic dispute.
An investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police Professional Standards Bureau and West Region Criminal Investigation Unit, led to the charge against the officer.
No name is being released, or the Detachment the Constable works at, in order to protect the identity of the victim.
The only information being released indicates the suspect is 39 years old and has been with Huron County OPP for 12 years.
He was charged with Assault, and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on December 15th.
The officer has been assigned to administrative duties.
As with all domestic related incidents, the OPP does not release the name of the charged person to protect the privacy of victims of domestic violence.
