Christmas has come early to Walkerton with the Tour of a Thousand Nativities.
Over 100 churches have teamed up to offer the event at the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints.
Putting Christ back into Christmas — that’s the goal of the Tour of A Thousand Nativities.
With over 33 hundred nativities on display, spokesperson Flora Nabrotzky says this is the largest of its kind in all the world.
The nativities come from across the world with over 70 countries participating including Italy, Scandinavia, South America and Egypt.
The collection ranges from micro-miniatures to larger than life size.
They are made from crystal, barn board, pewter, ceramics, olive wood, soapstone, sea glass, toothpicks, ivory and everything in between.
Nabrotzky says the response from the public has been overwhelming.
She says many are in awe of the beauty and variety of the collection.
The nativity collection has attracted bus loads of people from all across Ontario — including representatives from the World Nativity Association.
Admission to this event is free.
The exhibit is in Walkerton at the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints until Sunday November 20th — Sunday to Friday from 1 PM until 9 PM and Saturday from 9 AM until 9 PM.
