Bruce County is holding a household hazardous waste collection event this weekend in Walkerton.
The event on Saturday at the Transportation Yard will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to give residents a chance to dispose of their waste in an environmentally friendly manner.
Some of the items people can get rid of include paints and stains, propane tanks, used oil, batteries, antifreeze, solvents, and more. A full list can be found on the county website here.
The event will not collect commercial, agricultural, or industrial waste, as well as PCB’s, ammunitions, and flares.
Only containers with a volume of 30 litres or less will be accepted and waste must be received in containers which can be disposed of.
More details can be found on the Bruce County website here.
