Kincardine Council received a new Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan.
The plan was presented by consulting firm McQueen Galloway Associates, whose work began last summer.
Members of council were impressed with the report that was presented during Wednesday’s council meeting.
Councillor Beth Blackwell commented, “It’s extraordinarily thorough. It feels very connected to our community, and the priorities at the [public engagement] sessions and in conversation with folks.”
The approved plan will serve as a rallying point for all community recreational pursuits, and support a healthy, vibrant community and improve residents’ quality of life.
Blackwell added, “Having a really good roadmap, how to maintain [our outdoor spaces], how to grow responsibly, [and] how to really address the needs of all of our community is something I’m really excited by and looking at continuing to work with this [plan].”
In addition to the consultation process, MGA also reviewed policies, procedures, and previous reports, to give a well-rounded perspective to the plan.
Residents can have a look at the Kincardine Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan through the municipality’s website.
