Police say on Dec. 20, officers responded to a break and enter at a seasonal residence on 17th Street South. After looking over the other properties, police found two more seasonal residences had been entered on 4th Avenue South.
Later on Dec. 21, police responded to two more break and enters to seasonal residences on 17th Street South.
As a result, the 47-year-old accused has been charged with five counts of breaking and entering a house, mischief under $5,000, possession of breaking-in instruments, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and failing to comply with a probation order.
Police say the accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
The OPP encourage seasonal property owners to have someone check on their property daily during the off season to make sure everything is secure, which is a tried and tested method to deterring against crime.
