Bruce County is going to look at placing an order for three new ambulances, costing almost $762,000.
Council will be reviewing a recommendation to put in an order for the 2024 planned vehicle replacement this week.
A report from Director and Chief of Paramedic Services Steve Schaus says post-Covid prices continues to increase and the demand for ambulances has gone up.
The expected delivery of the new ambulances is 15 to 20 months within placing the order.
“The long wait is now the industry norm for ambulance purchases and manufactures don’t see it changing in the near future,” says the report.
County council will consider placing the order during its meeting on Dec. 7 at 9:30 a.m.
