Some snow’s headed our way today.
There’s a snow squall warning for most of Bruce and Grey counties. Environment Canada says lake effect squalls are forecast to begin this afternoon.
Forecasters say the squalls should intensify tonight, and persist through the day Tuesday. The forecast calls for 20 to 35 centimetres of snow through tomorrow.
“Snowfall amounts will be highly variable as the lake effect bands will likely meander. However, if they lock in, some locations may receive significantly higher amounts,” Environment Canada says in its warning.
Strong winds are also expected to accompany the squalls, resulting in significantly reduced visibility in heavy and blowing snow.
“Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Road closures are possible,” Environment Canada says.
