Kincardine Council is looking to collaborate with the Town of Saugeen Shores to help recruit more physicians.
Council Doug Kennedy tabled the motion, and Councillor Mike Hinchberger made a friendly amendment to extend an invitation to Huron-Kinloss to join in the meetings.
“They have a vested interest in this as well, especially those who live in the northwestern corner of their municipality,” Hinchberger explained, adding, “It kind of gets onto the record their position about the whole thing.”
The two municipalities had previously been connected with a collaboration effort, along with Bruce Power, before Kincardine left the partnership in 2021.
During that partnership, approximately 30 physicians were recruited to the municipalities between 2010 and 2018.
