Grey Bruce OPP had a busy holiday weekend attending to collisions and people driving on closed highways.
Police say on Dec. 26 around 7:30 p.m., the OPP, Grey Highlands Fire Department, and Grey County EMS responded to a report of a collision involving two snowmobiles on West Back Line in Grey Highlands.
OPP say one of the operators was placed under arrest after officers detected signs of impairment, and charged the 48-year-old accused from Grey Highlands with operating while impaired and having a high blood alcohol concentration.
Police add both of the involved parties were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.
The accused was released and is set to appear in court in Owen Sound at a later date.
The next day on Dec. 27 around 11:30 a.m., OPP responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Bayshore Road in Meaford.
Police say once on the scene, officers determined the driver of the vehicle had left the scene, and was located a short time later, with detected signs of impairment.
OPP arrested and charged the 31-year-old accused from Meaford with operating while impaired, and having a high blood alcohol concentration.
The accused was released and is set to appear in court in Owen Sound at a later date.
These incidents were in addition to when three drivers were charged with driving on closed highways during the blizzard.
