The town of Georgian Bluffs is warning pet owners to keep their furry friends safe from coyotes.
The warning comes following an incident last week where a pet in the Brooke neighbourhood of Georgian Bluffs was fatally attacked by a coyote.
Good safety precautions include making sure that trash is covered, and pet food is kept indoors so as to not attract wild animals.
It’s also important to make sure you’re supervising your pets when they’re outdoors.
The township also warns that if you come across a wild animal that is an immediate threat to public safety to contact the OPP.
