To help inform you about some of the perspectives of candidates running for mayor and council in the upcoming municipal election, Bayshore Broadcasting News sent a few questions to all those seeking office in municipalities across Grey and Bruce counties.
In Kincardine, candidates were asked:
1) Why are you running?
2) Are there any steps municipalities can take to help ease cost of living concerns?
3) What are your ideas for economic development in your municipality?
4) Do you think the municipality has a role to play in the recruitment and retention of physicians and other healthcare workers?
5) What would you like to see in Kincardine for growth-related development?
6) What would you like to see included in the Waterfront Master Plan?
For Deputy Mayor, incumbent mayor Gerry Glover did not submit responses by the publishing deadline.
Both Beth Blackwell and Doug Kennedy were acclaimed for the two Ward 1 positions and were still encouraged to participate.
Ward 2 candidates Carol Blake and Linda McKee did not respond.
No replies were received from candidates Carla Glover, Jennifer Prenger, and Scott Wilson at the time of publishing.
